Like many, we're big fans of Swedish design and have been working with Lexington for four years. We are so thrilled that their newest collaboration has won the Wallpaper of the Year Award at the Swedish Elle Decoration Design Awards 2017.
The collection of 35 wallpapers is inspired by Lexington’s textiles and its roots in the American East Coast. Featuring timeless stripes, romantic flowers in classic prints, shell patterns and medallion wallpaper - in memory of America's European heritage. The collection was released last year in collaboration with Swedish wallpaper manufacturer Boråstapeter and their talented designer Sissa Sundling.
The wallpapers are named after authors who lived in New England, for example Mark Twain and Emelie Dickinson. In addition, there are two digital maps of New England and Boston Harbor, recreated from an 1899 guide book.
Of the wallpaper collection, the Elle Decoration panel said, "This is a successful partnership where a strong interior and textile brand has been reinterpreted into a beautiful wallpaper”.
Founder of Lexington, Kristina Lindhe explains, "This has been a fun and successful cooperation between Lexington and Boråstapeter. The wallpapers reflect Lexington’s soul and the clear link to our source of inspiration, which makes it very exciting that the collection is now recognised with this award.".
